Full details of Kim Kardashian’s three wedding gowns have been revealed.
The 30-year-old reality star, who tied the knot with NBA player Kris Humphries on Saturday, chose family friend Vera Wang to design her gowns. Yet, she admitted that she found it hard to pick which one to wear for the ceremony itself.
“I truly, up until two days before could not decide which to wear,” she told People, before eventually settling for the ‘princess look’ which consisted of a ball gown with full tulle skirt, basque waist and hand-pieced Chantilly lace appliqué on bodice and train. She accessorized her Lorraine Schwartz headpiece with a cathedral-length veil with hand-pieced Chantilly lace appliqué at the hem and a lightly shirred blusher layer.
The dress’ creator explained, “It was Cinderella. But Cinderella with a very sexy body. She has a very Liz Taylor or Sofia Loren kind of body and we didn’t want to lose that.”
Kim then opted for her ‘favourite’ gown for the first dance – a Georgette mermaid dress with hand-pieced Chantilly lace appliqué on bodice. The skirt featured hand-cut organza petals intermixed with Chantilly lace motifs and organza sprig embroidery.
And a bias-cut crepe-back satin gown with V-neck and circle skirt was the dress that she went for when the time came to party.
“It was a wonderful process,” Wang said of working with Kim. “The fact that she came to me for having a certain classicism mixed with modernity, I feel very honoured.”
